Boardroom Knockout

I designed the cover and layout for Boardroom Knockout, a book that chronicles the high-stakes battles of the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) in protecting minority shareholders. The design needed to capture the intensity of corporate scandals while maintaining a professional and authoritative look that resonates with investors, financial professionals, and corporate leaders.

The book tells the gripping story of SIAS’s fight against corporate misconduct, from multimillion-dollar frauds to shareholder activism in boardrooms. My role was to create a visually striking cover that reflects the book’s themes of resilience and financial justice, while also ensuring the interior layout was clean, readable, and well-structured for a professional audience.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge was balancing the book’s serious financial subject matter with an engaging and dynamic visual identity. The cover had to be bold enough to capture attention while maintaining credibility. The layout needed to organize complex narratives and case studies in a way that made the reading experience smooth and compelling.

The Solution

For the cover, I designed a powerful visual that conveyed the idea of corporate battles, using strong typography and bold imagery to reflect the book’s theme of shareholder activism. The interior layout was structured for clarity, incorporating well-spaced text, pull quotes, and clean typographic hierarchy to enhance readability. Every design choice was made to complement the book’s investigative and informative tone while maintaining a polished and professional aesthetic.

The Result

The final design successfully captured the essence of Boardroom Knockout, making it both visually compelling and easy to navigate. The cover stood out on bookshelves and digital platforms, drawing readers into the high-stakes world of corporate governance. The structured interior design ensured a smooth reading experience, reinforcing the book’s authority and making complex financial cases accessible to a wide audience.
