Building GoGo News

It started from a feeling I could not ignore. International news are scattered everywhere in Myanmar. One update is on Facebook, another is on Telegram, another is on some website, another is hidden inside a livestream. Keeping up with everything feels messy and tiring. I wanted to make one place where people, especially Myanmar people, could check the news more easily without jumping all over the internet.
I also know how hard it can be when a lot of important news is in English. Sometimes the problem is not interest, it is just the language barrier. So I built GoGo News to make things feel a bit easier and closer for our people.
A big part of it is using AI to help translate articles automatically, so readers can understand the news more comfortably. From there, the project slowly grew into more than just a simple news page. I started adding different ways to follow updates in one place, like live news, radio, TV, and more features over time.
GoGo News is completely free. There is no paywall, even though there are real running costs behind it, especially for translation and maintenance. Still, I want it to stay free, because access to information should not feel out of reach.
The Android app is also coming in about two weeks, and it is currently in closed beta testing. That part makes me really happy.
Looking ahead, I want to add more radio stations and live stream channels, keep improving the translation quality, and one of my biggest goals is to one day add live translated subtitles for news livestreams. That would be the most ambitious step of all.
This project has taken time, money, energy, and a lot of small adjustments along the way. But honestly, if I helped at least one person, then all the cost and labor of creating this is totally worth it.
PS: It is still very much in its early stages, and I am improving it little by little. If you see any errors/bugs or any good ideas, please reach out to me!
